Current Research Papers
As of January 2002, all current research papers of the Wharton
Marketing faculty are listed on the
Marketing Department Current
Research Papers page. We are striving to make all working papers
available online in Adobe's PDF format.
Papers in the former Marketing Department Working Papers Series, which included
selected papers by Marketing faculty from 1987 to
1994 and from 1995 to 2001 are no
longer available.
Research Centers and Programs
These Research Centers and Programs are associated with the Marketing Department; their web sites have information about programs,
calls for papers, and publications.
Created
in 2003 as the result of a $10 million pledge to the Wharton School by
Jay and Patty Baker. the Initiative will link retail theory with
practice by forming a partnership between world class researchers,
educators, and the global leaders of today's retail industry.
Professor Stephen J. Hoch
is the Faculty Director and
William Cody is the Managing Director. The Baker Retailing initiative

"Seeking to further our understand of the characteristics of the
21st century enterprise" is the slogan of the SEI Center. The
Center conducts a series of workshops, conferences and lectures for the
exchange of knowledge and information among business leaders, world
class researchers and educators and students. We seek to identify and
understand trends in management practice and their impact, and to design
and implement research programs to meet the future needs of management.
The results of our efforts provide both educational material to faculty
as well as guidelines for corporate action. Professor
Jerry Wind is the founder and
director.
In May 1995, the Wharton School established the Emerging Technologies
Management Research Program to address the need for new best practices,
strategies and competencies in the field of emerging
technologies...under the supervision of a Core Team of senior Wharton
faculty and staff representing management, marketing and strategic
planning. In 2001, the program was brought under the newly created Mack
Center for Technological Innovation. Professor
George S. Day is the
Co-Director of the Mack Center.
Global teams, comprised of Wharton MBA
students with MBA students from another leading international business
schools, work with the top managers of their international client firms
under the guidance of faculty from both schools to develop (1) a
strategic plan that is grounded in market research and (2) a detailed
implementation plan (including financial and operational plans) for their
medium sized or entrepreneurial clients. Professor
Leonard Lodish is the
Founder and Program Leader of the GCP.
